A Meditation

Secret of the Rose

The bud of a rose is a concentration of energy reaching with intensity toward the sun power, drawing nourishment from the earth and water and with silent intensity pulling on the energy of the sun. It grows steadily. The concentration never wavers until it reaches full bloom. There is a burst of song and radiation, and then the spirit is ready to leave because the cycle is complete. With man, in his youth he is concentrated, reaching out to manhood and maturity, and his predestined cycle is in full expression. But man has the power to create another cycle beyond the destined one and so extend his life and useful service on the spiritual path. He can create another pattern in his psyche that will continue to energize the body and with silent intensity pull on the power and forces of the sun. There is danger in letting go of your ideal. The body begins to disintegrate and the mind to go into abstraction. This is the negative effect of retirement. The secret is to be in a state of silent intensity, every moment reaching up to the City of God. The golden thread must never be slack. It must be taut and vibrating with your spiritual sound.

Mantra:
A positive goal is carried forward through faith, and love clears the way.
